Richard Haas is an internationally known muralist whose expansive work is well-represented in Texas, including at Sundance Square and the Cowgirl Museum in Fort Worth. He has completed hundreds of exterior and interior projects, many in excess of 100,000 square feet. He draws his influences from Bernini, the Asam brothers and Frank Lloyd Wright, and is now being feted in a new exhibition at Gerald Peters Gallery. His work is a striking blend of painting, architecture, sculpture and environmental planning. He has long proclaimed the need to link people with their surroundings, saying, "Our cities have not been mended and the wounds seem to be growing constantly rather than diminishing." Mr. Haas will give a lecture and be on hand for an opening reception on Saturday.
