Many people believe women talk more than men - a lot more.
But a new study printed in the journal Science disputes that.
The conversation may be vastly different but it turns out, it takes men and women about the same number of words to get their point across.
Armed with recorders, researchers tracked 400 people, then transcribed every word, extrapolating each person's daily verbiage.
It turns out men and women spit out about 16,000 words daily.
"I don't know any man who talk more than me or faster than me," said manicurist KK Atkinson.
This is on average.
This study in the journal Science may sound shallow, but researchers say it actually suggests something important.
There is no biological basis for blathering.
