Then She Found Me is a good film written, directed by, and starring Oscar-winner Helen Hunt, divorcing Matthew Broderick, dating a quirky Colin Firth and re-united with her birth mother, a talk show host played-well by Bette Midler.

It's all terribly confusing for this single woman who desperately wants to have a baby.

Then She Found Me recently opened the AFI International Film Festival and even Helen Hunt admits her R-rated romantic comedy is slightly off-center. It's also uneven, but when it works it works well and features some genuine laughs and clear headed moments of kindness.
